Great Sequel! June 13, 2008 An excellent sequel to the Podcasting for Dummies book. This book is for those who have some experience in podcasting and are interested in taking their work to the next [few] levels.
Not what I expected March 3, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Expert Podcasting Practices for Dummies turned out to be another chapter of his first book which was grate. But I would not recommend this book it really doesn't add value to what he already coverd in his first book. I do recommend his First book. I believe he just used his success in the fist one to drive people to buy this one, this book is of very low value. There are very few training videos in the DVD.
Best of the bunch of current podcasting books January 26, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Many different topics are covered; this book gives a good flavor to what's needed to launch a podcast. The value of this book is increased by the audio, video, and information files provided on the DVD. Topics like "adding a blog to your podcast" included here have been skipped by most podcasting books.
Another big plus: the authors aren't afraid to make specific equipment recommendations, and they also recommend lower-end gear for beginners. On the topic of USB Microphones, the authors mentioned the Rode Podcaster microphone. They didn't mention the huge advantage of this mic: it has a headphone jack built-in to the microphone so you can hear yourself without any latency. As the authors note, this is a problem for all other USB microphones. I've picked up one of these wonderful microphones for my own podcasting.
With the bonus material on the DVD, you get a sense of the fun of podcasting.
