Product Description Hearsay celebrates a woman's life from childhood to middle age, including the often-ignored subject of work, with a voice that is sometimes tender, sometimes whimsical, but always strong. The winner of the 2003 Poets Out Loud Prize, this collection "proffers craft and vision; it begins, one might say, in delight and ends in wisdom" (Robert Wrigley, judge). To read a sample of her poetry, visit www.poetsoutloud.com.

A Voice without Panic or Bitterness May 26, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Lee Robinson has written a book readers of all ages may find comfort in. Some people as they approach maturity have internalized so much of the world's dischord that there are edges, if not deep seats of bitterness. Unlike those voices, Robinson is a mature woman who has found her way through. And we are all better for her clear and heart-felt songs. This is one of the books I most often turn to as a gift for others....Older friends; college students. I particularly like sharing her image of the heart as a charwoman sloshing her pail: "[We] forget how she stays up stoking the fire, bends over it with bellows--in and out, take and give. 'Love,' she whispers."
